Man Dead, Students Injured In Collision Police Are Investigating POSTED: 12:26 pm EDT April 4, 2006 A crash involving a charter bus and two other vehicles leaves one dead and students injured. The fatal crash occurred on Middlebelt Road in West Bloomfield Tuesday morning. A charter bus carrying a group of students was heading north on Middlebelt Road en route to the International Academy in Bloomfield Hills. A pickup truck traveling south crossed over the lane and crashed head-on with the bus, according to police. The driver of the pickup, a Lake Orion man in his late teens, passed away in the collision, Local 4 reported. Seven of the 10 students on the bus were taken to Henry Ford Hospital in West Bloomfield. "We had a few children with bumps and bruises and a dislocated shoulder," said Dr. Nabil Khoury of the Henry Ford Medical Center. "Other than that, everyone is OK."
